By adopting a targeted, site-wide investigation approach, GT Geotechnical optimised the scope of fieldwork and testing, delivering significant cost savings on geotechnical investigations while still providing a robust understanding of subsurface conditions. Detailed background research into the site’s history and previous land use further reduced uncertainty and avoided unnecessary duplication of testing.

The investigation identified opportunities to reuse site-won materials for engineered earthworks, reducing reliance on imported fill and eliminating bulk soil removal, resulting in substantial earthworks cost savings. Fast turnaround times on laboratory testing and report submission enabled Atrio Property to progress planning, design, and tendering activities without delay.

The resulting interpretive geotechnical report provided clear, development-focused recommendations, giving Atrio Property confidence in ground conditions, reduced construction risk, and a cost-effective pathway for future residential and infrastructure development.
